Mounted posters are commonly used for exhibition graphics, promotional displays, presentation materials, and directional signage where a standard paper poster may not provide enough rigidity. Mounted posters are lightweight, easy to transport, and suitable for both temporary and semi-permanent displays.

Our standard posters are mounted onto 3mm or 5mm Foamex board depending on the required strength and display setting. Standard sizes from A3 to A0 are available, along with custom dimensions for larger displays or bespoke presentation requirements.

We also offer super lightweight Correx® which is a twin-walled corrugated plastic sheet made from fluted polypropylene and a 3mm Diabond®. A premium rigid substrate prized for being exceptionally lightweight, durable, and weather-resistant. To which both are printed directly onto the material.

FAQs about mounted posters

Mounted posters are used for retail displays, exhibitions, office signage, presentations, event graphics, point-of-sale displays and information boards. They are useful when a standard poster needs a more rigid, professional finish for display.

A standard poster is printed on flexible paper or stock, while a mounted poster is fixed onto a rigid board so it holds its shape. This makes mounted posters better suited to display areas where the print needs to stand upright, sit flat or look more permanent.

A thinner board can work well for lighter indoor displays, while a thicker board gives the poster more structure and durability. At Firstpointprint, we offer mounting onto 3mm or 5mm Foamex board, depending on how and where the poster will be displayed.

Yes, mounted posters can be finished with gloss or matt lamination to help protect the print and change the final look. Gloss lamination can make colours feel brighter, while matt lamination gives a softer finish and can help reduce glare.

Mounted poster artwork should use high-resolution images, clear text and enough safe space around the edges, especially if the board will be cut to shape or finished with rounded corners. A print-ready PDF is usually the safest format for keeping layout, colour and image quality consistent.
