Brochures and catalogues have been a core part of business marketing for many years and remain effective today. They allow organisations to showcase services, explain offerings in more detail, and provide customers with something they can keep and refer back to later.
Brochures are typically printed with a 300gsm silk cover and 150gsm silk inner pages, creating a balance between durability and readability. Finishing options such as gloss or matt laminated covers, Scodix detailing, gold or silver foil Scodix, and wire binding or booklet-style finishing can be added depending on the type of brochure required.
Why choose us for brochure printing?
Firstpointprint is a family-run printing company with long-standing experience producing printed brochures for business use. Our team gives practical guidance on paper selection, finishes, and print method, so each brochure fits its role without unnecessary specification.
Brochure printing services cover both short-run digital printing and larger-volume litho printing, which helps match each project to budget, quantity and turnaround needs. Print quality stays consistent across runs, supporting organisations that place repeat orders or need strong continuity. Firstpointprint operates from London and offers UK-wide delivery.
Where printed brochures are most effective
Printed brochures work best when content needs structure and credibility. They suit situations where teams share materials internally, hand them out in person, or include them in information packs.
Typical uses include:
- company and brand brochures
- sales and pitch documents
- event and exhibition handouts
- product or service guides
- information packs and prospectuses
Brochure printing options
When it comes to brochure printing, there are several key choices to make. Below are the most common decisions clients work through with our support.
Sizes
Standard sizes work well for most brochures, but custom sizes remain an option when layouts demand it.
Page count and binding
Brochures typically range from 8 to 56 pages, with saddle stitching as the main format for booklet-style brochures. Wire binding and perfect binding are also available for projects that need a different feel or page structure.
Paper and stock
A common specification uses a heavier stock for the cover and a lighter stock for inner pages. This approach keeps the brochure durable while maintaining comfortable page turn and readability.
Finishes
Finishes can add durability, improve handling, or give the cover more impact. Options include matt/gloss lamination and specialist finishes (such as Scodix) when the project needs a premium look.
Choosing the right brochure print method
The right print method depends on quantity, timing, and how the brochure will be used.
Digital printing suits short runs, tighter deadlines, and projects where flexibility matters. It works well when teams need smaller quantities without sacrificing professional output.
Litho printing suits larger volumes and projects that prioritise efficiency at scale. It also supports strong consistency across long runs.
Artwork and file preparation
Supplying correct artwork protects print quality and reduces avoidable delays.
- Format: supply a print-ready PDF.
- Colour: set artwork to CMYK.
- Bleed and margins: include bleed and keep key content inside safe margins.
- Page setup: supply single pages, not spreads, unless Firstpointprint requests otherwise for a specific job.
Page count rules also matter:
- Saddle-stitched brochures: page count must be a multiple of 4.
- Wire-bound and perfect-bound brochures: page count must be a multiple of 2.
- Perfect bound covers: supply a wraparound cover file as a print-ready PDF with crops and bleed.
File checks are available on request. If artwork needs adjustment, we offer a graphic design service to help prepare your content for print.
Brochure design support
Some brochure projects need more than file checking. Others need a light touch to get artwork ready for production.
Through our graphic design service, Firstpointprint can support brochure design in a practical, print-focused way. This includes artwork checks, print-ready setup on request and layout adjustments that improve how the brochure prints.
